Explore Page
The Explore page is your starting point for discovering what’s trending across social media worldwide. It shows a world heatmap colored by trend activity, with detailed drill-down into any country.
World heatmap
The map uses color intensity to show trend volume — darker orange means more trending activity. Hover over any country to see its name and total trend entries. Click to drill down.
Controls
- Platform selector — currently TikTok only (more platforms coming soon)
- Time range — 7d, 28d, or 90d (depending on your plan)
Leaderboard table
Below the map, a sortable table ranks all countries by trend volume. Click any column header to sort. Click a country name to drill down.
Country drill-down
Clicking a country opens its detail page with four sections:
KPI tiles
Four summary cards showing unique counts for the selected time period:
- Search queries — unique trending search terms
- Hashtags — unique trending hashtags
- Audio — unique charting audio tracks
- Content — unique trending content items
Each tile shows a delta (e.g., +42) comparing the current period to the previous period of the same length.
Search tab
Shows trending search queries with two source views, switched via the pills at the top of the tab:
- Consumer search — what people are typing into TikTok’s search bar. Columns: Query, Rank trend, Popularity.
- Ad keywords — what advertisers are bidding on. Columns: Keyword, Rank trend, Posts, Change %, Impressions.
The Category dropdown next to the source pills filters by industry. The available categories change per source — Consumer shows broad themes like “Fashion” or “Food”, while Ad keywords shows advertiser-facing industries like “Beauty & Personal Care” or “Technology”. Selecting “All categories” shows everything in the active source.
Click any keyword to open its detail page — a deeper view with rank-over-time charts, regional breakdown, demographics (Consumer view), or ad-economy metrics over time (Ad view). The source you’re currently viewing carries through to the detail page.
Hashtags tab
Shows trending hashtags with three filterable views, accessible via pills at the top of the tab:
- Popular — the most-viewed hashtags over the selected time range (default view)
- Viral — hashtags gaining rapid traction in a short window (7-day period)
- App Discovery — hashtags surfaced by TikTok’s consumer-facing trending page
Each view shows:
- Views and Posts — peak values during the period
- Rank trend — sparkline showing daily rank changes (green = improving, red = declining) with current rank number
Industry filter
For the Popular and Viral views, use the Industry dropdown (top right of the tab) to narrow results to a specific industry — for example, Fashion, Technology, or Education. The dropdown shows only industries that have data for the selected country. Selecting “All Industries” returns to the unfiltered view.
Audio tab
Shows charting audio tracks with:
- Title and Artist
- Rank trend — daily chart position sparkline with current position
- Days — how many days the track appeared on charts
The Audio tab has four pills at the top: Popular — Music Chart, Viral — Music Chart, Popular — Creative Center, and Viral — Creative Center. Music Chart is TikTok’s in-app sound chart; Creative Center is the advertiser-facing chart. The two surfaces overlap only slightly, so switching between them surfaces different tracks.
Content tab
Shows trending content from TikTok’s feed with:
- Caption — truncated content description
- Position trend — daily feed position sparkline
- Days — how many days the content appeared in trending feeds
Detail pages
Clicking a hashtag, audio, or content title from any tab opens its detail page — see the Audio detail page guide for the full anatomy of a single sound’s view. Hashtag and audio detail pages now show one data source at a time — the same four pills you see on the Explore tab appear at the top of the detail page, and the active pill carries through from your Explore selection. Switch pills on the detail page to see how that hashtag or audio performs on a different source. Tabs without recent data for that entity are disabled with a tooltip. Hashtag detail pages also include a country selector — set it to “All countries” to aggregate, or pick a country to scope every section to that region. App Discovery is global only, so the country selector is replaced by a “Global” badge for that view.
Related hashtags graph
Each hashtag detail page includes an interactive network graph showing which other hashtags tend to appear alongside it. The graph has a scope toggle with two settings: Period and All-time. When set to Period, the graph shows only co-occurrences recorded within your currently selected time window (for example, the last 7 or 30 days), giving you a view of which hashtags are traveling together right now. Switching to All-time reveals every relationship ever recorded for that hashtag, regardless of when it was observed — useful for understanding a hashtag’s broader ecosystem and long-standing associations. The All-time scope is available on plans with a full-year history window; users on lower plans see the toggle disabled with an upgrade prompt.
Clicking a query/keyword on the Search tab opens the Keyword detail page — trends, regional breakdown, demographics (Consumer view), and ad-economy metrics over time (Ad view). The source pill from the Search tab carries through, so clicking from Consumer search lands you in the researcher view, and clicking from Ad keywords lands you in the marketer view.
Profile detail page
Every profile page includes a Creator Insights section summarizing how the creator actually performs: how often they post per week, their average engagement rate, and their single best post from the analysis window.
Paid plans unlock the full deep-dive:
- Posting cadence — weekly posting volume, active weeks, average gap between posts, and whether they’re ramping up or slowing down.
- Engagement quality — engagement-rate trend over time with median, best, and worst post benchmarks.
- Top posts — their five best posts by views or engagement rate, with breakout badges for posts that massively outperformed the creator’s own baseline.
- Best time to post — a day-by-hour heatmap showing when the creator’s posts earn the most engagement (shown in the creator’s local timezone where it can be determined).
- Patterns — content format mix, most-used hashtags, and top sounds.
Insights are computed from the posts collected for the creator, so tracked profiles with a full backfill show the richest picture.
Sorting
All tables are sortable. Click any column header — sortable columns show a ▸ indicator. The active sort column shows ▲ (ascending) or ▼ (descending). Row numbers re-index after sorting.
Tips
- Compare time ranges — switch between 7d and 28d to see which trends are sustained vs. flash-in-the-pan
- Use categories — keyword insight categories (Education, Technology, etc.) provide country-specific data, while trending categories (Fashion, Food) may show regional data shared across countries
- Check the “Days” column — items trending for more days are more reliable signals than one-day spikes
